Adventures in Photography

I got my first DLSR Christmas 2012 which was perfect timing since my point and shoot was not cutting it when trying to document everything with our first born. My pictures instantly improved and I was taking pictures of everything. As I continued shooting and getting more confident I was now after the more artistic look. After attempting a few  hundreds of Pinterest inspired looks and trying to capture the perfect picture without avail I found my answer. I received an email invitation me to join a free webinar about mastering the art of shooting in manual mode. I decided I would give it a try and I was in love! After finishing the webinar I instantly downloaded the book of all books, The Unexpected Everyday ebook by Courtney Slazinik.

Once I finished reading this insightful book, I was excited to get started. I immediately started using manual mode when shooting and the difference was night and day. The amount of control I had compared to the automatic mode was unbelievable. The only thing I was still lacking was the limitations my kit lens had. Fast forward a few weeks and my kit lens broke :(  the error message pops up every other photo, not happy. I decided to go ahead and order the 50mm 1.8 lens so I could try out the other techniques mentioned in the book.

I will update soon with the results and pictures!
